About the book:
Two and Nine have spent their entire lives within the Academy’s barbed wire fences and tall brick walls deep in the San Juan Mountains with only each other to rely on. They have lived in absolute isolation with the other subjects, known only by their numbers—never by name—and trained so that one day they may be integrated into the outside world.
Two dreams of becoming the perfect military leader the Academy wants to groom him into. However, when he learns that Nine is leaving the Academy, he realizes that his future is meaningless without her. With time running out, he hatches a plan for them to escape together—even if it means going against the brutal overseers of the project he was born into.
The Assassin Fall series is best enjoyed in order:
Hades Rising (prequel novella)
Project Pandora (Book #1)
Project Prometheus (Book #2)
Hades Rising by Aden Polydoros is a prequel novella that is a part of the young adult Assassin Fall thriller series and is currently a free ebook on Amazon. The series involves a bunch of teenagers that have been secretly trained to become assassins through the Pandora Project.
Hades Rising takes a step back from what happened in Project Pandora and has started readers out as the teens are being taught in the Academy. The story alternates the view between two best friends in the academy only known as Two and Nine.
Two has been involved in the super secret military type training as Nine is in completely different classes studying culture and the world outside of their compound. When one of the soldiers under Two has an accident and is killed Two begins to think of ways to escape.
Having already read Project Pandora, the first book of the series, I had an idea of what this novella would be like already. The story is rather fast paced and action packed in the full length book so I expected a lot of the same and loved the extended look at what made the characters what they are in the series. As the book blurb suggests it might even be easier for readers now to start with the prequel novella and get an idea of the characters before going into book one. Either way this is turning into one exciting series and I’m quite looking forward to sitting down with book two soon.
