About the book:
Things get textual when a steamy message from a random wrong number turns into an anonymous relationship in this hilarious rom-com by Lynn Painter.
Bad luck has always followed Olivia Marshall…or maybe she’s just the screw-up her family thinks she is. But when a “What are you wearing?” text from a random wrong number turns into the hottest, most entertaining—albeit anonymous—relationship of her life, she thinks things might be on the upswing….
Colin Beck has always considered Olivia his best friend’s annoying little sister, but when she moves in with them after one of her worst runs of luck, he realizes she’s turned into an altogether different and sexier distraction. He’s sure he can keep his distance, until the moment he discovers she’s the irresistible Miss Misdial he’s been sort of sexting for weeks—and now he has to decide whether to turn the heat up or ghost her before things get messy.
Mr. Wrong Number by Lynn Painter is a contemporary romantic comedy novel. The story in Mr. Wrong Number is one that is told by changing the point of view between the main characters giving both sides of the romance.
Olivia Marshall has always felt that if it weren’t for bad luck she’d have no luck at all. Olivia’s latest disaster of starting a fire trying to burn the love letters from her ex has landed her living with her brother and his roommate, his longtime aggravating best friend Colin, in their apartment and being homeless and jobless.
As Olivia thinks things couldn’t get any worse she gets a text from a random number asking what she’s wearing. How lame can the mysterious guy be? But before she knows it she ends up carrying on texting with the stranger while she tries to navigate her new life.
Mr. Wrong Number by Lynn Painter was such a delightfully fun read full of snark and sass and a lot of laughs. I loved that Oliva was able to laugh at her many misadventures through life and has come out stronger than ever and the banter between Colin and Olivia would have me chuckling over and over again. The idea of an anonymous friend was also interesting although a tad obvious it still made the story all that more hilarious at times. Definitely an author I would return to in the future after reading Mr. Wrong Number.
I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

About the author:
Lynn Painter lives with her husband and pack of wild children in Nebraska, where she is a weekly contributor to the Omaha World-Herald and an avid fan of napping. When working on a new book, she can often be found sound asleep on her office floor. Some might say she should grow up and stop randomly dozing off like she’s a toddler, but Lynn considers it part of her writing “process.”
Yeah – because that totally makes it legit.
What a wonderful review, Carrie. This sounds so good, I’ll add this one to my TBR
