About the book:

The New York Times bestselling author of the Tourist Trap mysteries launches a new series perfect for fans of The Thursday Murder Club. New-age Sedona, Arizona seemed like the perfect place to open up a bookstore devoted to healing. But when a member of a local cancer survivor support book club goes missing, will this group’s sleuthing skills be enough to find her?

Two things got Rarity Cole through her breast cancer treatments: friends and books. Now cancer-free, Rarity is devoting her life to helping others find their way through the maze to healing. She’s opened a bookstore focusing on the power of healing—Eastern medicine, Western medicine, the healing power of food, the power of meditation, and the importance of developing a support community. To that end, she’s also started the Tuesday Night Survivors book club. With its openness to new-age communities, Sedona, Arizona, is the perfect fit for Rarity’s bookstore and the tightly knit group.

But their therapeutic unity is disrupted when one of their members suddenly goes missing. Martha has always kept to herself, never opening up much of her personal life to the group. Now she’s nowhere to be found. With her car abandoned on a trail and her dog left with a friend, Rarity is sure something terrible had happened—but will she be able to uncover Martha’s secrets before it’s too late?

The Tuesday Night Survivors’ Club Mystery by Lynn Cahoon is the first book in the cozy Survivors’ Book Club Mystery series. As with most cozy mysteries this book does contain it’s own fully solved mystery so it could be read as a standalone if choosing to do so.

Rarity Cole is beginning her life over with a complete reset after surviving a battle with breast cancer and losing her fiance in the process. Moving to Sedona, Arizona she leaves her corporate life behind to open The Next Chapter, a specialized niche bookstore focused on all avenues of healing. After the store is up and running Rarity also decides to start a book club specifically tailored for fellow cancer survivors forming her own tight knit community.

As the club slowly forms with a quirky group of survivors the women involved consider it their own safe space of like minded strong women. One day however the group is shaken when one of their fellow members, Martha Redding, goes missing. When Martha’s body is discovered at the bottom of a ravine with all signs pointing to murder the Tuesday Night book club dub themselves the Tuesday Night Sleuths and vow to find the murderer.

The cozy Survivors’ Book Club Mystery series isn’t the first cozy series I’ve read from author Lynn Cahoon and certainly won’t be the last. Lynn Cahoon became a go to cozy author so I knew going into this series I would find writing I would enjoy along with a new set of interesting characters and a fun mystery to solve. Will definitely be coming back to this series in the future.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.
