Publication date: January 27th 2022
Genres: Adult, Paranormal, Romance
The Five Realms University is an open battlefield. After surviving three years of pranks, insults, and the occasional attempted murder, Alis thought she knew the rules of the game.
One encounter with Reiks, the golden prince everyone adores, shows her just how mistaken she was. He’s decided she’s his to torment for his last year at Five, and no one can save her from his clutches, until an actual war comes knocking at the doors.
Alis had her reasons for staying under the radar for so long, but to survive, she might have to embrace the devastating magic in her blood, at the risk of destroying the entire world.
Born to take over a kingdom divided to its very core, Reiks has grown calculating and cruel, for the greater good.
He treats friends and foes as unwitting pawns on his board, until he comes to realize one piece might have been his enemy’s queen in disguise. Alis could be his undoing.
Or his salvation.

Of course. Another one. 🤣
Girl, you are killing my reading list, I’ll have to make a tbr soon just for your page!

😂 Sorry Sheri!! I’m telling you my own list could probably reach the moon so of course I’m going to be a bad influence. 🤣❤️📚

No complaints here! I keep getting sidetracked by real world responsibilities and haven’t had a chance to read as much as I would like lately.. but, until then, I’ll continue collecting them! 😍

I certainly knew that feeling. That’s really how I got addicted to listening to books so I could still have my hands free and get up and do things but not put the book down.😂❤️📚

I can see that.. It would make things so much easier. After hearing all the good things said about them from a few persistent people, I won’t name names, I have actually gotten ahold of a couple audiobooks to try out. So.. we’ll see! Thank you! 💕

Good luck! I would warn audio does take a little getting used to but I love listening to them now and probably do more of that than sitting and reading because I can do it and get other things done.

I figured it would take some adjusting.. I keep picturing myself walking into walls or putting my laundry in the fridge at the good parts.. 😂

😂🤣😂 I don’t kow if I was ever that bad but I will admit to things taking a lot longer when I am really really engrossed. 😂

Lol! Good to know! Anything you would recommend starting with? I don’t want to jump into something too busy or complicated..

Honestly you’re best bet would probably be something like a simple romance read. I know I can do about anything at this point but it did take some time to learn to keep listening and not get distracted with things around me. Maybe start off just listening like you were sitting reading a book before trying to get up and go too.

Thanks, that makes a lot of sense, I’ll see about trying it that way first! 😉
I was thinking they might be pretty useful on longer car rides, too.

They are if you are traveling alone, I’ve done that some myself. Unfortunately I usually have someone with me and no one else sees the obsession.🤣

I didn’t think about that.. My husband doesn’t read. 😅😆
Headphones, maybe? I’ll still probably try it at home first, like you said, it would probably be easier to start with.

I do use headphones when I’m listening and others are around which is pretty much all the time these days.

Ah, that sucks, it must be difficult to get in much reading time..
Things are pretty quiet here (most of the time) so, there’s that. It just seems like it would be easier to focus on what you’re listening to with headphones..
Take care, Carrie, and stay safe!

Yes, it really is easier to concentrate when you block out other things around you. Of course even as long as I’ve been doing audio I will admit there are times I have to go back having missed something so I’d say don’t be frustrated if that happens either.🙂

I’ll remember that, thank you! Currently just trying to find something that might work well.. There are so many choices!

The thing is too with audiobooks you will find that some are easier than others just based on the narrator too. I do my audio these days just using my Kindle text to speech so the voice never changes and once I go used to it I began flying through books having the option of hands free “reading”.

That’s so smart! I’ve heard a lot of horror stories about how much the wrong narrator can just ruin a book for you. I was wondering how you’re supposed to choose something like that. I guess it would be like anything else.. just start somewhere. 😆
But I will have to try that text-to-speech trick, thanks!

I don’t suppose there is a way to find out if you will like the narrator or for a book unless you have seen them narrate others. If you do try the text to speech I would suggest switching the voice for that to the male version, the female drove me nuts!🤣

Guess if I can’t ask the cast of Game of Thrones to narrate them, I’ll just have to start looking, well.. listening. 🤭

🤣 Of course you’ll always still have the option to just read the book yourself if a narrator does bother you.🙂

Well, there is that option. 😋
