About the book:
Sometimes the biggest emotional risk can reap the best romantic reward…
After everything she worked for is destroyed, pediatrician Natasha Gray is determined to build a new life. Divorced, bankrupt and suddenly a single mom, she’s ready to start over in Silver Springs—on her own. She certainly doesn’t need help from Mack Amos, the man who’s already broken her heart twice.
Although Mack has had feelings for Tash since they first met, too many things have stood in the way. He’s always given her the support she needs, though, and he’ll do the same now. Even if the desire he wrestles with threatens to undermine his intentions…
But her heart is not the only reason Natasha wants to keep Mack at bay. More time in her life means getting closer to her son, which could lead to a revelation neither of them is ready to face.
When I Found You by Brenda Novak is the eighth book in the contemporary romance Silver Springs series. Now as with a lot of romance series the main characters in each of the Silver Springs series change in each new novel so they can be read as a standalone if choosing to do so.
Natasha Gray has just hit a low point in her life and is hoping that the move to Silver Springs will be the fresh start that she needs. Fresh off a divorce with a husband she never really loved and having just lost her pediatric practice when a nurse endangered patients lives Natasha needs to completely reset and to focus on a new job and her son.
Helping Natasha with her move to Silver Springs is Mack Amos, the one man Natasha had truly fallen for but never could have. Mack is the youngest son of a man Natasha’s mother had once married and is several years older than Natasha so the relationship had always been taboo but there was that one night seven years ago that Natasha will never forget.
Brenda Novak is an author I discovered a few years back and immediately wanted to go back and read all of her work as I loved what I had read. Of course I haven’t actually been able to do that just yet but have read quite a few of her extensive catalog and always love them. The characters seem to come to life and I’m always pulled into the story and When I Found You was much the same experience. I’ve not read all of the Silver Springs series myself and of course this read fine on it’s own and was really enjoyable.
I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

About the author:
Great review Carrie. Due to the growing precariousness of my tbr, I think I’ll skip this, but I’m glad you liked it.

Thanks Kim! I think if you’d like any of hers it would be the thrillers anyway.🙂

This is an author I keep intending to read, Carrie, but I haven’t got there yet. One day… I love it when the characters come to life. Great review. ❤📚

I think you would really enjoy her books Sandy. My first try was the prequel to her The Evelyn Talbot Chronicles which is a thriller series and I was hooked. After that I figured it she could entertain me in the thriller genre I had to start picking up the romance too.🙂

So glad you enjoyed this one too! I was a little bit worried about Mack being a stepbrother, but she worked through this very well.

Yes, that would be my one kind of pause with them is Natasha being so young too or it might have been a 5 star, just a strange backstory for a romance.
