About the book:

In the fourth shamelessly adorable Teddy Bear Mystery, teddy bear shop manager and amateur sleuth Sasha Silverman vows to find out who killed the best man in a Valentine’s Day wedding when a heartless, ice-pick wielding killer ruins the big day…

Always a bridesmaid, never a killer…

At the Silver Bear Shop and Factory, Sasha will be selling plenty of bride and groom teddy bears come springtime. But this Valentine’s Day weekend, she’d take any of those silent, stuffed couples over the real thing. Sasha and her sister Maddie are bridesmaids at Cissy Davison’s upcoming wedding in Silver Hollow. Cissy is fuming over the worst choice of best man–the jerk who broke her sister Debbie’s heart–and the groom-to-be won’t budge in his decision. At the rehearsal dinner you could cut the tension with a wedding cake knife.

That is, until best man Dylan is found dead, impaled with an ice pick. Although jilted Debbie is the most likely suspect–the blood on her dress doesn’t help her case–the bride begs Sasha to prove her sister’s innocence. If anyone’s going to walk down the aisle, Sasha will first need to find the cold-hearted killer who iced Dylan…

Wedding Bear Blues by Meg Macy is the fourth installment of the cozy Shamelessly Adorable Teddy Bear Mystery series. Like most cozy mysteries each book of this series contains it’s own mystery within that will be solved so they can be read as a standalone or in any order if choosing to do so. However, there is some character development that carries over book to book for those reading in order.

The first book of this series introduced Sasha Silverman who after her divorce became the manager of the Silver Bear Shop and Factory which is like a build a bear type of business. Sasha’s parents own the bear factory in the town of Silver Hollow but had retired from working the business turning over the day to day operations to Sasha.

It’s now Valentine’s at the Silver Bear Shop and Factory and Sasha and her sister, Maddie, are going to be bridesmaids in wedding just in time for the holiday. The ladies however are not enjoying the wedding events due to there being tension over the groom’s choice of best man however when the best man is found murdered Sasha vows once again to find the killer.

I have been following the Shamelessly Adorable Teddy Bear Mystery series from the beginning after not being able to resist those adorable covers. This one isn’t quite as quirky as I normally fall in love with but I’ve gotten to know these characters and do quite enjoy them. I have though felt that to me these are a bit slow paced not being sure if that’s the lack of quirkiness or not but that leaves me to rate at three and a half stars.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

  1. Great review Carrie. I have only read the first book in this series and did enjoy it, but for some reason, haven’t picked up the rest. BTW, I like this page better than your last one. I found it hard to read.

    • Thanks Carla! Those darn teddy bears got me every time so I keep sticking with it although I’d like a bit more silliness in them.

And thanks, I didn’t like the one I had there for a while so I keep trying to find one I like better. This theme checks all the boxes except it forces the titles to be in all caps which makes me feel as if it’s making me “yell” so I may keep looking. I’ll definitely try to keep this style though as I couldn’t read half of my own page there for a bit, the backgrounds need to stay in the background and not on the posts.😯
