About the book:
The men in Nicole McLaughlin’s Man Enough series are tough Alphas devoted to serving their country and the women who love them.
National Guardsman Aiden King has been attracted to Hannah Walters for a while, but he never made a move because of her close relationship with his best friend. But when circumstances change, Aiden is surprised when his friend gives his blessing. Problem is, there’s a reason he’s still alone after all these years, and as much as he wants her, that secret keeps him from acting on his desires.
Hannah has finally decided to wait for the kind of love you read about in books and see in movies. After her failed engagement, Aiden’s unassuming support has become a touchstone for Hannah. It soon becomes apparent that he may be exactly the kind of man she’s been looking for. But the closer they become, the more he keeps her at arm’s length.
When Aiden suggests a road trip to take Hannah’s mind off her troubles, the two of them go on a journey neither one expected. She just hopes that the final destination is them together for good.
Only With You by Nicole McLaughlin is the fourth book in the contemporary romance Man Enough series. Each book in this series features a different couple so they all can be read fine as a standalone but there could be mentions of previous characters for those following the series.
Hannah Walters has had to sit back and watch her best friend, Jase Beckford, fall in love with Hannah’s twin sister. While Hannah didn’t feel that way for Jase she does feel the loss of having the close friendship they once had and after also breaking off her engagement Hannah vows to hold out for the perfect man for her.
Aiden King serves with Jase so the two are very close friends and while he’s always had a bit of a crush on Hannah he never acted upon it with Jase being so close to Hannah. Now that it’s clear Jase and Hannah are not going to take their friendship to another level Aiden vows to get the courage to see if there’s anything there with Hannah but Aiden has secrets from his past he needs to deal with first.
Only With You was a rather sweet romance with a lot of emotional content to pull at a reader’s heartstrings. Aiden and Hannah seemed to really work well together and just seemed to be exactly what the other needed at this moment in their lives. While there was some steamier content the author also infused those moments with emotion from her characters to the point you could really just feel it while reading. Definitely a nice addition to the series.
I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.
