Her Legacy (The Foster House Legacy # 1)Her Legacy by Teresa Crumpton
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Alexis has found that she’s inherited the family’s long forgotten estate, The Foster House. After moving into the house though Alexis finds herself surrounded by spirits and and a mysterious history. Not only does Alexis need to find out her family’s secrets but an evil entity has enlisted the help of Brenton Young to manipulate Alexis’s life for his own dark purposes.

I really wanted to like Her Legacy, I mean look at that amazing cover. But unfortunately this one just wasn’t for me. Alexis was an OK character and the idea behind the story should have been interesting enough but I spend most of the book really bored and just waiting for it all to grab me.

The story started off alright, move into old creepy mansion and things start happening etc. Alexis is an empath which also adds a bit to the tale. But it just seemed to stall out a bit waiting to figure out what this all meant. At about 70% I was expecting to finally get clear answers but that scene turned into just more questions. Around 90% Alexis herself says she needs answers and I’m thinking, well I do too. So needless to say at that point I was pretty turned off at the entire read.

Overall, not really one I’d recommend. Some great ideas but it never really flowed well or picked up any excitement for my tastes.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

  1. Every author and publisher should seek you out for honest reviews.. Not everyone will always agree with a critique because we all have different tastes.. What I like about your write ups is that you give enough of what to expect in pace and action, so even a negative reviews may still entice a reader who likes how it rides.. And if ppl trust the critic, them good/rave reviews are gold.. 🤗

    • Aw thank you very much! But between you and me don’t tell every writer that, I have to turn down too many now from not having enough time to be able to get to them all. LOL But it’s very kind of you to say, I try to point out things that may or may not bother someone whether I’ve loved it or not and hopefully even when I don’t I don’t become the person that simply writes “what a terrible book” because I do believe even if I don’t like it there’s going to be people out there that will.
