Darkness Released by Candis Vargo
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Hailey James had a very troubled past that is now coming back to haunt her on the verge of her twenty fifth birthday. The house she grew up in is now being torn down so she decides to visit it one last time.
Afterwards Hailey begins visiting a therapist to try to make sense of the nightmares that have been plaguing her. Gaining understanding of her past Hailey now has to try to find a way to stop the curse that has surrounded her.
Darkness Released is the second book in the Darkness series but seemed to read fine as a standalone novel. It’s a pretty short read and to be honest starting off I didn’t think I was going to enjoy it at all but by the end it turned out to be an OK read.
Hailey starts learning of all that happened in her past pretty early on in the book and some of it just seemed really weird to all be piled on at once. But the further getting along in the story things started making more sense as to what had happened with a lot being packed into a short read. I did kind of guess how things were going to turn out but it may not be obvious to everyone.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
