presented by Swoon Romance!

What do you think of the cover?

Pretend to be from Spain? Act like she can barely speak English? Sure, why not? It wouldn’t be the first time Gabby Vega had agreed to a challenge from her best friend, Kenzie. Besides, it’s only for a week of vacation with Kenzie’s cousins. Gabby will prove to Kenzie she can keep up the fake identity for the whole trip—that she’s not a quitter.

There’s just one major surprise. Noah Jernigan is also staying with Kenzie’s cousins. Noah, the boy she fell in love with at drama camp last summer and the boy she had to dump when it was over. The boy who knows who she really is.

Noah can’t believe it when Gabby appears at the Bryson’s vacation home in the New Mexico mountains. He hasn’t seen her in a year. It practically took that long just to get over her. And now she’s Gabriela from Spain? All he wants is to get as far away as he can. Or maybe the exact opposite. Stick as close to her as possible and find out what the heck happened last summer. And definitely get some payback.

Now Gabby has to keep Noah at arm’s length as she pretends to be Gabriela. She doesn’t want to answer his questions or rehash last summer. Because one thing is clear—the more time she spends with Noah, the more she’s in danger of falling for him all over again.

PRESERVATION

The Walshes #7

Kate Canterbary

Releasing May 23, 2017

Vesper Press

Two lonely hearts.

Just once, she’d like

to be someone’s first choice.

She’s strong-willed

and spunky, but she’s left picking up the pieces from her ex’s lies and

manipulations, and daydreaming about taking a scalpel to his scrotum.

Flying under the radar

is what he does best.

He’s laid-back and

loyal, but he wants the most off-limits woman in his world, and nothing will

ever make that a reality.

An arrangement of

mutual benefit.

Two months, four

dates.

Five, if things go

well.

Five at the most.

But possibly six.

Definitely no more

than six dates.

Only the appearance of

a romantic relationship is required, and they expect nothing more from their

time together. There will be none of those

benefits involved.

One wild weekend.

After waking up in bed

together—very naked and even more hungover—the terms and conditions of their

arrangement no longer apply. Now they’re faced with something riskier than exposing their fake relationship:

letting go of the past and zipping up the future.

Some things have to

fall apart before they can be put back together.

PRESERVATION excerpt – © 2017, Kate Canterbary

Riley pointed at the plate

between us. “These are my favorite pretzel bites in the city. Try

some.”

I shot him a sharp look.

“Are you just trying to get me in a good mood?” I asked. “I did eat lunch today.”

“Oh yeah?” he

asked, dipping two pretzels in the accompanying sauce. “What did you have?

Based on you yelling at me about noticing your shoes, I’d say it was an iced

venti skinny latte.”

“Almonds,” I

replied. And an iced venti skinny latte but I wasn’t copping to that just yet.

Riley tried to fight a

laugh, and failed. “Almonds?” he repeated.

“Chocolate covered

almonds, yes.” I folded my arms across my chest. “It was an

appropriate amount of calories, fat, protein, and carbs.”

He shook his head and ate

another pretzel. “I don’t want to live in a world where a few

almonds—chocolate or otherwise—are lunch.” He pointed to the plate and

pushed his beer toward me. “Eat. Drink. Please.”

I glared at the pilsner

and pretzels. I hated being told what to do. Just fucking hated it. But then my

stomach growled—goddamn it—and Riley

shot me a pointed glance.

“People think that a

rumbling stomach is the sign of hunger,” I said, reaching for his glass. I

drained the beer and then selected a pretzel for dipping. “It is not.”

Riley gazed at me, his

expression flat. It gave me a moment to study him while choosing another

pretzel. He was wearing jeans, a tailored shirt with the cuffs rolled up to his

elbows, and a pinstriped vest, and his hair was a wreck. It looked like he’d

been tugging the dark strands in every conceivable direction. His eyes were

rimmed with a bit of red and his lids heavy, as if he’d been rubbing them or

hadn’t gotten much sleep. Perhaps both. There was a small notebook beside his

phone, and a mechanical pencil tucked into the spiral binding.

And he was still more

attractive than I knew how to handle. Even tired and irritable, and ordering me

to eat his pretzels and drink his beer, he was hot as fuck. I bit into another

pretzel and offered him a small smile.

“Would you say the

chip on your shoulder is massive or epic?” he asked. There was no hint of

amusement in his tone, and he was staring at me with more ice than I’d believed

he could muster. It didn’t feel like we were sniping at each other anymore.

“It might be semantics to you but I’m trying to get a feel for what I’m

dealing with here.”

But then one of his big

hands found my leg under the table. He squeezed and rubbed his thumb along the

hollow of my knee, and I started to believe I’d been all wrong about this man.

There was the player and there was the overgrown kid, but there was so much

more than that.

Kate Canterbary doesn’t have it all figured out, but this is what she knows for sure: spicy-ass salsa and tequila solve most problems, living on the ocean–Pacific or Atlantic–is the closest place to perfection, and writing smart, smutty stories is a better than any amount of chocolate. She started out reporting for an indie arts and entertainment newspaper back when people still read newspapers, and she has been writing and surreptitiously interviewing people—be careful sitting down next to her on an airplane—ever since. Kate lives on the water in New England with Mr. Canterbary and the Little Baby Canterbary, and when she isn’t writing sexy architects, she’s scheduling her days around the region’s best food trucks.

Book 1 – WHERE YOU ARE by Alla Kar

Got boy problems? Call Laney Scott. She’s good for advice, a shoulder, or a swift kick where you need it. When her roommate Bethany gets her heart broken by Aiden, yet again, it’s Laney to the rescue. But Laney’s harboring a secret. She’s nursing her own broken heart. But, she and her friends come up with a plan to break Aiden, and set it into play. Laney wants Aiden to pay for what he’s done to Bethany. She will make him fall in love with her, so she can break his heart.

Laney’s ex-boyfriend Lachlan Hems is back in Florida, still Australian and sexy as hell. His best mate Lucas is getting married, and he is in town for the show. He just didn’t realize Laney would be there … in another guy’s arms, or that seeing her again would have such an effect on him. After the incident in high school, he vowed to never care for her again. But sometimes, fate has different plans.

When Laney’s resolve crumbles, Lachlan is the only one who can put her back together again.

Book 2 – HERE WITH ME by Alla Kar

Jaden Baker is stoked about college, making new friends, and erasing the memory of being bullied in high school. But moving on comes with a price. Her dad has made arrangements for her to move into her brother’s apartment so he can keep an eye on her. But there’s a glitch in her dad’s plans. There are also two other college boys living in the apartment too. Suddenly, living in an off-campus apartment with three college-aged boys seems like a bad idea — but not to Jaden. After all, Cade is pretty damn hot, making the whole forced living arrangement and brother-as-a-baby-sitter a little more tolerable.

Cade Jenkins grew up on the opposite side of the tracks from his best-friend and his privileged little sister. His dad bailed when he was a kid, and he can’t help but still care for his drug-addicted mother. This semester, things are looking up. He’s met someone. Too bad she’s his best-friend’s fresh out of high-school, inexperienced little sister. Awkward!

Just when it looks like things might be changing for the better, Jaden finds herself battling severe depression and a broken heart as old feelings re-emergence after that

high school bully targets her again. Cade, who’d love to pick up the pieces and make her whole, must fight his own demons and brewing family trouble just to hold on.

If only they didn’t find themselves falling irrevocably in love.

Book 3 – THERE WE’LL BE by Alla Kar

Respect your elders. Stay off Sawyer property. And don’t even think about that Sawyer girl…

Boone Cross was raised with three simple rules, and falling for Josie Sawyer broke every one of them. That is, until a year ago, when he did the unthinkable and she moved away.

Josie Sawyer never thought she’d be on a plane, flying back to Arkansas for the summer, only a year after her heart was crushed into a thousand pieces by the boy her parents forbade her to love. But her father is dying, and being stubborn isn’t an option.

In a town this small, it’s only a matter of time before she runs into Boone Cross.

A lot’s changed since she last laid eyes on him, but some things have remained exactly the same. Boone’s got designs on her and he won’t give up until he gets what he wants.

But as they give in to the need to be together once more, secrets come to light revealing a history of a hatred between their families that runs so deep that even the strongest love may not be able to survive.

BONUS eBOOK – REDEMPTION by Alla Kar

REDEMPTION is the story of an ex-con with a second chance who falls for a girl who just might be too good to be true.

EXCERPT:

Laney

“And there will be a time, you’ll see.

With no more tears.

And love will not break your heart

but dismiss your fears.” – Mumford & Sons

Cold coffee.

Is there anything worse? Staring down into my owl coffee mug, the cool brown liquid gawks up at me in mock humor. The cord is lying on the counter beside the pot, not plugged into the wall where it was last night. Instead, Heather’s—my looks-obsessed roommate—straightener is plugged in. What’s the point of having a timed coffeepot if it’s unplugged every morning before you get a chance to use it? I grit my teeth and blow my bangs from my forehead.

I snatch the cord from the plug-in and toss the straightener on her bed. Hopefully, she’ll get the point. Instead of pouring the coffee down our sink, I sip on it. Hell shall

freeze over before I go a morning without my coffee. Hell frozen-over would probably be hotter than my coffee right now. I grab my backpack, tie my blond hair into a messy bun, push up my thick, black-rim hipster glasses, and walk out of our dorm room.

I lock the door and head toward class, the aroma of perfumes swarming my nose. A few girls in towels race down the hall, screaming. Like clockwork, a tall muscular guy follows behind them, a huge I’m-going-to-get-some grin on his face. College is definitely a guy’s wet dream come true. Especially, in a co-ed dorm. He’ll have one of them pressed against their dorm room door tonight. They’re all so predictable.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s perfectly fine to date. But, doing it wisely is a completely different issue. Girls aren’t the smartest when it comes to dating. The three C’s that guys can’t stand are clinginess, crying, and clumsiness. I know it’s not possible to walk like a runway model twenty-four seven. And we all know girls tend to cry, especially around that time of the month. But it’s all about the game. You’ve got to play it right, so you can snag a great guy. It’s so easy to rope one in as long as you focus, and I don’t mean on his abs.

I’m almost clear of the hallway when I hear my name. I turn on my heel. Heather is frowning from the lounge doorway. Her long black hair is perfectly straightened. I hope she gets a medal for her hair today, because that would be the only reason I’d forgive her for unplugging my coffeepot.

She pouts her pink-coated lips and curls her finger for me to come closer. “She’s crying again.”

Damn it. I don’t have to ask. I know it’s Bethany and I know why she’s crying. It’s the same damn thing every week. Sighing, I walk into the lounge. A few girls surround her, patting her back and trying to calm her down. It’s not going to work, because she’ll be in the same position next week. She glances up over her long lashes and slender nose. Her strawberry blond hair is messy and hangs loosely down to her breasts. “I just—I just don’t know what I’m doing wrong. It’s like every time he sees me coming, he goes the opposite direction. What do I do—” she breaks off in a fit of sobs.

I’m thinking of a million different ways to escape when Heather claps her hands loudly. “I know. Laney—why don’t you help her? You helped me with Todd. You got him to ask me out in two days. You could help Bethany.”

Oh, the agony. I don’t know if I could stand two minutes in a room alone with her. I give her a small fake smile and shrug. She looks like the damn cat off of Shrek, with her wide eyes and trembling bottom lip. If I say no I’ll look like a major bitch. “Who is it this ti—?” I stop myself.

She wipes her nose and tries to straighten her hair. I want to tell her that’s not going to work, she needs a brush, but I keep my mouth shut.

“Aiden Sims.”

And the heavens opened up and released the hottest male specimen to come to Jacksonville University. Well, that’s what he thinks anyway. Aiden is the playboy of our small university and he plays his Abercrombie-model good looks to his advantage. I grumble under my breath and pull my strap up my shoulder to keep it from falling.

“Have you had sex with him?”

A few of the hovering girls gasp. Oh, get over it. Bethany shakes her head. “No, we haven’t.”

“Great. That means you still have a chance to get him.”

“Wait,” a redheaded girl says from the corner of the room. “You’re telling me that if we’ve had sex with a guy, and he hasn’t committed, we’re screwed?”

I nod. “Pretty much. You’ve never heard why buy the cow when the milk is free?”

The redhead scoffs. “How do you know so much about this stuff, and who made you queen?”

Rawr. Someone hasn’t had their panties down lately. Heather raises her index finger and rolls her neck; that’s how I know she’s going to tell someone off. “She knows exactly what to do when it comes to getting guys. I’ve been with Todd for five months.”

Red shakes her head. “But why don’t you have a boyfriend then, Laney?”

A long, hard pain starts to build in the depth of my stomach. My eyes feel funny and my heartbeat is heavy in my chest. I will not think about him. No, I refuse. “No one has interested me yet.” Which is almost true, no one at this college has been worth my time. But that’s not the real reason. Red grabs her coffee and sways out of the room. Please, bring me back that coffee!

A tall brunette sitting in the corner clears her throat and leans over the worn lobby chair. “What else. I mean—any other advice?”

Everyone turns to look at me. I should totally charge for this. I shrug. “You can’t show that you’re too interested. No waiting for his text. He needs to be waiting for yours.” I take a sip of my cold coffee. “Don’t throw yourselves at him. Don’t take fifty million pictures on the second date. Make him work for it.”

Most of the girls nod slowly at me, waiting for more advice. I glance at the wall clock. I’m going to be so late.

“Laney,” Bethany asks, drawing my attention back to her. “Can you help me? I don’t know what move to make. Please.”

Can I help you, or will I help you? It’s not like my small job at the writing center takes up that much time. Hell, I have tons of free time. That’s exactly why I have a TBR list on my Kindle a mile long. I tug at my ponytail, then give Heather a defeated look. “Okay, I can help. You want to meet me tonight? We’ll go over our strategy.”

Bethany smiles. I think it’s the first one I’ve seen on her face since she moved in last semester. “Well, I have plans to go out tonight. Aiden is going to be there, if you want to meet up?”

Oh, no. I don’t like where this is going. I’m not a big partier. I’m twenty-two and couldn’t care less about getting wasted. I do it sometimes, but only for celebration or if I’m really bored. “Where are you guys meeting?”

Bethany stands up, adjusting her boobs in her shirt. No wonder guys flock to her, and no wonder they leave. She leaves nothing to the imagination. “The Loft down on King Street.” She places her hands on her slender hips. “You coming? I really want to start now.”

The black lines of mascara running down her face makes me sad. She is really desperate. Crying in the third-floor lounge isn’t the fix-it problem she was looking for and I can’t blame her. All the girls surrounding her right now would advise her to do the absolute wrong thing.

I huff. It’s just one night. “Okay, I’ll meet you there at nine.”

Isis Blake hasn’t fallen in love in three years, forty-three weeks, and two days. Or so she thinks.

The boy she maybe-sort-of-definitely loved and sort-of-maybe-definitely hated has dropped off the face of the planet in the face of tragedy, leaving a Jack Hunter–shaped hole. Determined to be happy, Isis fills it in with lies and puts on a brave smile for her new life at Ohio State University.

But the smile lasts only until he shows up. The menace from her past—her darkest secret, Nameless—is attending OSU right alongside her. And he’s whispering that he has something Isis wants—something she needs to see to move forward. To move on.

Excerpt:

Mom drives slowly and carefully. I sip ginger ale and watch the highway flash by. Suddenly, a terrifying thought hits me upside the head with its sweaty palm.

What the hell did I do with my teenage years?

I didn’t volunteer or play sports. I didn’t become a radical warrior princess on my sixteenth birthday, complete with a talking cat and magically appearing clothes. Hogwarts didn’t even send me a letter, and I haven’t actually forgiven them for that. Wait until I go to London and find Platform Nine and-Three-Quarters and slip through to the other side and unleash my rage. I’ll make Voldemort look like a sock puppet. And I’ll make out with Draco. And I’ll train a bunch of house elves to fan me and bring me grapes—

I stop when I realize I’m writing mental Harry Potter fan fiction on my way to college. Focus! I need at least seven whole focuses if I’m going to make a fabulous impression. Or any impression at all. I’d rather make a bad impression than no impression.

As Mom pulls onto the exit, I sigh.

I didn’t even kiss a boy. For realsies, anyway. Not-drunk.

I did other things. I held hands and hugged. Nameless pretended real hard to be nice using hugs and hand-holding. Once or twice he even hinted he thought I was pretty. But it was an act, just to build me up before he tore me down. And it was all before the big it. Little it. It’s not even worthy of a prefix. It’s just “it.”

I have to leave that behind, too. There’s no room for that. Not if I want to move on with my life. I’ve done my best to bury it, ignore it until it goes away, and it’s sort of worked. I got far enough to sleep in a bed with Jack without freaking out. So I’m getting better, and that’s real good to know. It gives me a little bit of hope where there used to be none.

Jack helped me realize that I’m not unlovable. I’m not hopeless.

I’m not all ugly.

Or maybe I realized it on my own. Either way, fighting with him helped me realize lots of stuff. I grew up all kinds of ways. A sharp pain radiates in my chest, but I brush that dirt off my shoulder and watch Mom’s smile.

Father by Clarissa Wild blitz with giveaway

Father
Clarissa Wild
Publication date: April 25th 2017
Genres: Adult, Romance

Confess your sin.

People call me Father, but I prefer Frank because I’m the worst preacher you’ll ever meet.

Days spent completely wasted pull a number on you, especially when you’ve got a truckload of baggage that comes with it.

Until this beautiful girl in the back of the church takes my breath away.

…And we end up committing sacrilege in the confessional.

Did I mention I’m filthy?

Bad doesn’t even begin to describe me, and after one taste of what she’s got to offer, I want more.

Too bad having a dirty mind isn’t the only thing we’ve got in common…

Our past is laced with sin.

Author’s Note: This book is not for everyone. It’s raw. It’s vulgar. It’s downright offensive. But it’s oh so damn delicious with a capital D. If you are easily offended or prudish, please don’t read this book. But if you like a bit of humor mixed in with raunchiness and brawling, you’ll love this book.

Contains disturbing situations, strong language, and graphic violence.

EXCERPT:

She turns her attention to me as she rubs her forehead with her towel. “Well, well, what a coincidence.”

I smile and enjoy the view. No point in denying anything, especially since there’s been no allegation. Yet.

“So Bruno already found you. Are you stalking us or something?” she asks, raising a brow.

Ah-ha, there it is.

“Nah.” I grin. “Just your friendly neighborhood preacher patrolling the area.”

She rolls her eyes, but I can tell she’s barely able to keep the laughter inside.

“Got something to confess?” I ask.

She snorts. “Like you don’t already know everything.”

“I do!” Bruno raises his hand.

“Oh, yeah? Tell me then, what’d you do?” I inquire, inching closer.

He closes his mouth and freezes, so I lean in even closer and pat the bench. “Sit.”

He does what I ask, and then I turn my ear to him so he can whisper.

“I peed in the sandbox.”

My grin turns into a full-on outburst of laughter.

“What?” Laura asks.

I turn my face to Bruno and whisper back into his ear, “Is that the real reason you didn’t wanna play in the sandbox anymore?”

He nods.

“What?!” Laura’s voice is even louder this time, and she’s even thrown her towel over her shoulder like some kind of statement.

Bruno looks at me as if he’s pleading me not to tell her—probably because she’d get mad and rightfully so. But I think I’ll play along with this game.

So I twine my fingers and smile like a motherfucker. “I’m sorry. Confessions made to a preacher are strictly confidential.”

Oh, that look on her face right now.

Blood-boiling rage.

Magnificent.

“Frank …” she hisses.

I shrug, still smiling as I lean back.

“He did something; you gotta tell me. This isn’t a joke,” she grumbles. “What if it’s something embarrassing or wrong?”

“You mean like that thing we did in church?”

Her eyes widen, and the shock on her face is amazing to see.

“What thing?” Bruno asks.

“Nothing!” Laura hisses. “Frank …”

I look at Bruno and say, “Bruno. If you say you’re sorry, your sins will be forgiven.”

“Does that mean God forgives me too?”

I nod. It’s hard to explain these things to a kid as young as he is.

He draws a cute cross on his chest and mumbles, “I’m sorry.”

“Good.” I pat his back and then look at Laura. “See? He’s repenting, so he’s forgiven of his sins.”

She narrows her eyes and snarls at me. “You are so bad.”
