There’s also a war to prepare for—and if she wins, the gods will be deposed once and for all. But first she needs to track down Gaia, and even that won’t be simple. Gaia resides at the bottom of the ocean, and the humans and gods are already hot on Atropos’ trail…
A heart-pounding romantic adventure where Greek mythology and modern-day life collide, Hunted Fate is the third book in the epic Threads of the Moirae series by Jennifer Derrick.

EXCERPT:
“We need whoever provides security around here. Or Hades. They’re bound to be the ones who can open this. If we can find them, we can drag them down here and slap their hand on this thing to get it open,” Alex says.
“We need another way,” Sara says, shaking her head. “We haven’t seen a single person since we got here. It’s too time consuming to track them down. And we’ll never get Hades.”
“Anyone know of any other ways to crack a palm plate?” I ask.
“Short of finding a valid fingerprint and going through an awful lot of steps to create a fake finger, the only other way is to break down the software controlling it,” Alex says.
“Are any of you hackers?”
Alex raises his hand.
“You can hack this?” I ask. “I didn’t know you were a hacker.”
“I’m not. But there isn’t a lot to do when you’re stuck at home with a terminal disease or trapped in a crappy boarding school. I taught myself a few things, made a few online friends who were a little shady. Depending on how sophisticated the software is, I might be able to crack it.”
“Would it be controlled from the computer out front?”
“It might be. Or it might be controlled from a central server that’s who knows where. No way to know without looking,” he says.
“That computer is password protected. If you try to force it, you may set off alarms.”
“Then I’ll have to be careful,” he says, heading back to the lobby.
We follow and gather around the desk while he works. The keys clack under his fingers as he mutters instructions to himself.
“Okay, I’m in the system,” he says. “While I’m here, I’m going to shut down those security cameras. No need for everyone to know where we are.”
The TV feed blinks and is gone.
He keeps typing and clicking and muttering. The rest of us sit down on the floor and wait. There’s nothing we can do.
“Huh. That could be tricky,” he says.
“What?” I ask, getting up and going around the desk so I can see his screen. Not that the gibberish there means squat to me.
“The system that controls the fingerprint scanners also controls the card locks. Worse, it’s not separated by floor. I’m not good enough to bring down only one piece of the system. It’s all or nothing.”
“What’s the problem?” I ask.
“It means that the only thing standing between us and whatever is behind those cell doors is the hope that none of them try the doors. If the inmates figure out the doors are open, then security will be the least of our problems. All of them could walk right out of here.”
“Do it,” I tell him. “It’s not like we’ll be broadcasting the locks are down. No one will notice. Hopefully.”
“Okay,” he says and goes back to pounding on the keys.
After a few minutes, the computer beeps and Alex pushes away from it.
“Done,” he says.
The words are barely out of his mouth when a series of small pops echoes around the room. They sound like they’re both surrounding us and simultaneously heading away from us.
“Aw, shit,” I say. “The locks. We forgot they make noise! We are idiots. Come on,” I say, racing for the doors on the right.
We slam through the doors and pull up in front of door number four. No one is coming into the hall yet. I’m hoping the inmates think it’s a trap and are too intimidated to try their doors. Either that or they didn’t hear the locks release. Please, just let me get out of here before hell literally opens, I think.

Her interest in storytelling began when she was six and her parents gave her a typewriter for Christmas and agreed to pay her $.01 per page for any stories she churned out. Such a loose payment system naturally led to a lot of story padding. Broken Fate, her first novel, earned her $2.80 from her parents.
Jennifer lives in North Carolina and, when not writing, can often be found reading, trawling the shelves at the library, playing board games, watching sports, camping, running marathons, and playing with her dog. You can visit her at her official website:www.JenniferDerrick.com.

Captured by Chocolate by Steena Holmes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Casey Michaels and Dylan Morgan have had a long distance relationship going for quite a while now as Casey wanted to go explore her dreams of becoming a photographer and traveling the world while Dylan was always more of a homebody and didn’t want to leave their small town of Marietta. Now after having doubts about her career and needing a break Casey has returned home and finds that it’s time for the talk to happen between them concerning their relationship.
Once home Casey starts to feel that maybe it’s time for her to put down some more solid roots but everyone around her seems to be waiting for that moment she runs out the door. Dylan has postponed a job interview wanting to see where things are with Casey but he feels that any moment she may leave him yet again and perhaps he should get on with his life without her. Will Casey’s grand gesture prove once and for all the two belong together?
Captured by Chocolate is the eleventh book in the Love at the Chocolate Shop series written by various authors and set in the charming small town of Marietta, Montana. Each book in the series can easily be read and understood as standalone novels as they each feature a new couple with some sort of tie to the local Copper Mountain Chocolate shop. While they can be read separately though for the long time fans following the series there is always little bits of updates on the town and previous characters.
I found this installment to the series to be another lovely little addition to this great small town romance series. The characters in this story have a long standing relationship that just needs a bit of a push to rekindle so they do already know each other and one another’s flaws so the read can go a bit deeper than a first meeting of a couple. All the while working on their struggles the story still takes readers also back to the small town charm of things you can only find in Marietta which I’ve grown to adore with each book. Definitely another great addition to the series and as always look forward to reading the next.
I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

EXCERPT:
Before she talked herself out of sleeping in a bed fit for a rich lady, she grabbed her backpack and tiptoed down the hallway. In front of Glen’s bedroom, she paused. He stood facing away from her and pulled his shirt off by the back of the neck. She gawked, and a hot puff of air escaped her mouth.
Broad shoulders flexed as he threw his shirt toward the other side of the room. She stopped breathing as he turned. Unable to move, she dropped her gaze to his stomach. Rock hard and tan, she could only watch the way his six-pack moved in waves and grew closer. She snapped her chin up and stared at Glen’s face. Uh oh.
“Let’s get something straight. I don’t know what the fuck is going on with you. But, if you try to lift one thing off me, I’ll have no problems hunting you down.” He inhaled through his nose. “Tomorrow, I’m going to straighten your shit out and find out what you were doing trying to sleep in an alley.”
With that, he turned around and dropped his jeans, leaving his boxers on. She stood exactly where he left her mesmerized over his tight ass until he flipped off the light and she could no longer see him.
In the dark, Glen said, “Don’t even think of leaving before I’m up.”
She stared in the direction of his bed. “I’ll leave when I want to leave.”
The lamp beside the bed came on. Glen sat up in bed, the blanket covered him to his hips. “Listen, Blue. I’m dead on my feet. I need sleep. There’s a lock on the bedroom door if you want to use it. You’ll be safe. I don’t feel like dealing with you anymore tonight. If you give a damn about whether I’m in a better mood in the morning, you’ll go take your shower and then go to sleep.”
She moistened her lips. After what seemed like a lifetime of sleeping on the ground or on the floor, a real bed sounded better than the worry over her safety around Glen. She nodded. “Okay. One night.”
“That’s all I need, and then I’ll straighten this shit out in the morning,” he said.

Q&A with Weston Parker
Name Weston Parker
Age 30
Where are you from: Huntsville, Texas
Fiona: When and why did you begin writing?
I joined my sister Ali Parker in 2015 in the business. I started by doing analytics for the company and from time to time would write plots for some of her books. We began to talk one night about stepping out and writing one of my own books. I was against the idea at first, but when we released my first novel the response was so great that I wanted to continue writing.
Fiona: When did you first consider yourself a writer?
I’m still fairly new to the whole writing scene, so it is still hard for me to consider myself a writer. It really is a surreal feeling to finish a novel and put your own name on it. I do welcome the time that I will wake up and see myself as a writer.
Fiona: Do you see writing as a career?
At first, it was hard to see it as a career. I never saw myself as a writer or that it would be enough for a career, but as the years have moved on with the business, it is much easier to see this as a full-time career.
Fiona: If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?
Our books have been moving pretty quickly as of late. I don’t believe I would change anything in the books. When I write the books, I try to look at every emotional factor and find the best way to connect with the reader, and I believe we did that with this book.
Fiona: Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?
There is not enough thanks that I can give to the readers. When Ali and I started, we really wanted to push the fact that we wanted to connect to the readers. We grew up reading novels to give us an escape from our reality, and we wanted to give the same reprieve to our readers. If there is one thing that I could say to our readers it would be thank you so much for the love and support and we hope that we are giving the same love and support back to you.

Sins of the Heart
Eve Silver
(Sins Series #1)
Publication date: March 4th 2017
Genres: Adult, Paranormal Romance, Urban Fantasy
Library Journal raves the Sins Series is “…dark, seductive, and sexy as sin.” For readers who love paranormal romance and urban fantasy.
Dagan Krayl, the Underworld’s most powerful soul reaper, is the demigod son of the evil god Sutekh. He’s on a mission to find his murdered brother’s remains and resurrect him, but resurrection means that the secrets carried into death would be released and, with them, a war that could end gods and mankind alike.
Roxy Tam is searching for the same thing, but for completely different reasons. She means to make certain that the remains don’t fall into Sutekh’s hands, and that the soul reapers do not reanimate their fallen comrade. As a Daughter of Aset, Roxy is tasked with the protection of the human race, and if that means thwarting an all powerful soul reaper and making certain his dead brother stays dead, so be it. But when Roxy sees Dagan face-to-face, she realizes that she has met him once before—a meeting that changed her life forever.
Neither Dagan nor Roxy expects to join forces for the sake of mankind. Or to have their loyalties tested as they struggle against treachery, betrayal and the potent desire that threatens to consume them both.
