Well, to continue my new tradition of using songs someone somewhere would find something inappropriate to complain about I chose a song that I first heard on the movie The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, funny movie but I’m sure it would offend a lot of people. This song though while being rather sad I’ve always found a rather beautiful tune anyway and have spent my share of holidays single so maybe that’s why I’ve become fond of it.

I think I liked the Cyndi Lauper version the best.

Cyndi really did sound amazing, I wasn’t really expecting it when I played it. I really like the one Dolly does by herself too but I didn’t think I needed to share both the original and hers.

It’s such a beautiful song even if it is rather depressing since it’s about being alone for the holiday.
