A Cotswold Christmas by Kate Hewitt
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Anna Vere has been having some tough times in her life so she has decided to make an escape to the Cotswolds for Christmas. When Anna’s reserved room at a bed & breakfast is flooded though she’s not quite sure what to do until she gets an offer from sexy local carpenter Colin Heath to camp out in Willoughby Close.
What started out as merely helping someone stranded turns into a lot more as Colin and Anna grow closer the more time they spend together. Anna has a secret though that she thinks will keep Colin from wanting a relationship with her on top of the fact she is only supposed to be visiting and will need to return home.
A Cotswold Christmas by Kate Hewitt is a lovely little emotional Christmas romance. The setting seemed to be an odd one to start to have to camp for a holiday but I really began to enjoy the story as I got to know the characters and found the setting to also be quite nice in the end.
Anna had been struggling with a lot when she chose to take her trip and it was good to see her begin to overcome the things worrying her. With being a novella I had wished there had been a bit more depth and getting to know the characters but still good even with the faster pace due to being short.
I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.
