About Me

Hi everyone! I’m Carrie and one of my favorite things to do is to read. I enjoy all kinds of books and have recently become hooked on writing reviews for them. I set up this page to share my reviews and hope you enjoy!

A bit about myself. I am just your normal average adult who loves to read in my spare time. I’ve actually enjoyed reading pretty much my whole life. My grandmother would often tell the story of my first library card. Our local library had only one requirement, you had to be able to sign your own name to sign your card. My grandmother taught me to do just that when I was only 3 years old so I could begin to check out my own books as she was always an avid reader herself and wanted to pass on the enjoyment of a good book to me. We would visit together every couple of weeks and each come home with our own stack of books. I’m sure she’s smiling down on me every time I pick up a book to read to this day.

Now you may ask how I got around to this blog… A friend recommended I check out Goodreads and I found myself completely in love with the site after having to be dragged onto it.I thought what is the point of just adding books I’m reading? Well after a few months of use I found that out what is so appealing, the reviews are amazing to read. Ok, so at first it was the giveaways that I enjoyed… but who wouldn’t love free books? But then I found it helps so much to know what others have thought so I really thought I should begin writing my own reviews, so here we are.

There are so many different types of books that I enjoy that I’m always switching around with what I’m reading. I hope though that maybe my thoughts might help others as some of the reviews I’ve read have done for me. A lot of what I’m reviewing are advance copies so maybe you’ll find something new and exciting being talked about here.

I do hope you enjoy my site and perhaps give me a follow. I’m not a writer myself so forgive any mistakes you may see in my reviews and just know all opinions are my own. Thanks for visiting!!

Carrie

All books are rated on a 1-5 star scale with 1 being the worst and 5 the best.

5 stars = Really enjoyed it and can’t find a complaint to the story at all, didn’t want to put it down.

4 stars = Enjoyed the book but had a few complaints, nothing major.

3 stars = An ok read but some problems to it, slow parts, questionable happenings etc.

2 stars = Didn’t care for it in the end but finished and had some interesting parts.

1 star = Really, really disliked or may not even have finished.

Feel free to contact me below if any questions or comments on my blog. I usually can’t accept review requests due to previous obligations although every once in a while I have time to squeeze something in. Please give me time to reply to emails too as to be honest I’d much rather be reading a book than my email. 🙂

***Please read****
At the moment I’m not taking any review copies as I’m simply too far behind so please bear with me until this message changes.

  5. Hi Carrie, We’re friends on Goodreads. I thought you reviewed only YA books. My current book isn’t YA, but I see that you just reviewed one that isn’t. I’d like to send you my book, Lancelot: Her Story, sometime when you have time. Also, did someone else design your blog page? It’s impressive. Is there a way I can contact you offline. I’ll try to friend you on Facebook.

    • Hi Carol, probably the best way to contact me would be just send a message on Goodreads. I do pretty much any type of book but I really can’t take anymore right now due to my huge list to get through. I wish you the best of luck with yours though. 🙂
And yes, I’ve done my page with the help of WordPress, it’s pretty easy to use. Thanks for the kind words!
